Aaaaaaand We're Off!

Greensboro, NC to New Albany, IN

Greetings from the road, Grand Western Tour friends & family!

After a great day of team building games and the departure dinner, our grand adventure finally began yesterday…bright & early at 6am. After a fun ride full of games and getting to know each other a little more (and no phones!), we made it to our first stop of tour; the famous Churchill Downs! We explored the Kentucky Derby museum, went on a guided tour, and learned about the history of America’s most famous horserace while watching a film about the Derby in an amazing 365 degree surround screen theater.

After Churchill Downs, we headed to our hotel, relaxed for a little bit, then went to dinner at Joe Huber’s, a farm restaurant in Indiana. After a delicious family-style meal, we enjoyed the farm while playing basketball, chasing chickens, and just swinging in the swings relaxing and chatting. It was a great first day, for sure. On to St. Louis & Kansas City tomorrow!

FUN FACT OF THE DAY: The jumbotron at Churchill Downs is 3 1/2 NBA basketball courts long!
