Putting the 'West' in the Grand Western Tour

New Albany, IN to Kansas City, MO

On the road again! On Day 2 we officially began the western portion of the tour– we made it to the St. Louis and the Gateway Arch, the welcome mat of the West!

After a yummy lunch at the cafe and exploring park’s museum, we watched a fascinating film about the construction of this modern architectural marvel. Then, it was time for views from the above! We took tram cars (that felt like a little UFOs) all the way to the top, where there were windows with views for miles.

After St. Louis we set off for Kansas City and some delicious brisket and BBQ at Dempsey’s, the perfect way to end our time in the midwest.

FUN FACT OF THE DAY: Despite the optical illusion, the Arch is as wide as it is tall!

BONUS FUN FACT: The tram to the top can go a maximum of 3 miles an hour
