We said goodbye to Jackson Hole early in the morning and headed toward the ranch. This year, we are staying on a new ranch, AWLS (American Wilderness Leadership School). Surrounded by extraordinary mountain scenes, everyone settled into their cabins and then came outside to enjoy the fresh mountain air. Many gathered to toss footballs, play can-jam or throw frisbees in the open grassy areas. They had so much fun!
Shortly after lunch, the counselors took a team of students and hiked two miles to the Granite Hot Springs. We hung out in the 100 degree “swimming pool” with a beautiful waterfall behind us. What an unforgettable experience!
After dinner that night, while the sun was slowly setting, Brooke held a yoga session; those not doing yoga played volleyball, explored the stream or just enjoyed the beautiful Wyoming night, as it stayed light until almost 10 pm. Everyone roasted s’mores around the fire, and we wrapped up the day with laughter and lots of singing.
Tomorrow, we will visit Yellowstone National Park!
