Bright Lights and Big Magic: A Night in Las Vegas

Today with The Grand Western Tour, we traded desert highways for the dazzling lights of Las Vegas, and what a night it turned out to be.

We spent the morning driving once again, stopping for lunch on the road before rolling into the city. Once we got checked into the hotel, we made our way to the Venetian for some shopping and dinner. A bunch of us grabbed t-shirts, and we all got a kick out of watching the gondoliers singing and rowing along the resort’s indoor canals. Only in Vegas!

From there, we walked over to a magic show starring Piff the Magic Dragon and his scene-stealing chihuahua, Mr. Piffles. The show was every bit as funny as it was impressive, with just as many jokes as tricks. Meg even got called up to the mic to join in on the fun. Between the balloon animals and a chainsaw making an appearance, there was never a dull moment.

Next, we headed to the famous Bellagio fountains, where we caught the mesmerizing fountain show and were entertained by some talented street performers along the way. The one thing we won’t soon forget? The heat. It was an incredible 110 degrees out there, but we all made it through unscathed and had a blast doing it.

Tomorrow brings one of the most anticipated stops of the whole trip: the Grand Canyon. We can hardly wait. Until then, goodnight from Vegas!
