Wild Mornings and Beachy Afternoons: A Day in San Diego

Today with The Grand Western Tour, we spent the day exploring San Diego, and it gave us the best of both worlds: incredible wildlife and gorgeous coastline.

We started at the world-famous San Diego Zoo, and wow, it is huge. We got to see all kinds of amazing creatures, from pandas and elephants to tapirs and capybaras. Some of the biggest highlights were watching the hippos bathe underwater through the glass windows and the orangutans doing somersaults and lounging in their hammocks. We had plenty of free time to wander the grounds, take in the animals, and grab lunch. A few of us even hopped on the gondola for a beautiful bird’s eye view of the zoo from above.

After the zoo, we made our way to La Jolla. Some of us went shopping and checked out favorite stores like Lululemon and Free People, while others played games in the park, relaxed, and sunbathed on the rocks and the beach, looking right at home next to the seals.

As evening rolled in, a barbecue dinner was delivered right to the park. Some campers even made new friends there, playing rounds of cricket and hacky sack together. And to top it all off, we treated ourselves to some seriously delicious gelato and frozen yogurt for dessert.

From underwater hippos to beachside sunsets, San Diego was an absolute dream. Onward to the next adventure!
