Zoos, Seals & Sunset Scoops, A Perfect San Diego Day: Day 24

San Diego, CA

Day 24 gave us sunshine, animals, ocean breezes, and just a touch of chaos (thanks, seagulls).

We started the morning at the San Diego Zoo, where the group split up to explore one of the most famous zoos in the world. Favorites of the day? The elephants, koalas, and the always-popular panda bear, a quiet crowd-pleaser that everyone was glad to see.

From there, it was time to soak up the coast at La Jolla Beach. Many students stopped by the cove to watch the sea lions and seals lounging in the sun before heading out to shop and explore the beach town.

Dinner was a BBQ picnic in the park, or at least it would have been if the local seagulls hadn’t aggressively stolen some of our chicken! It definitely made for a memorable (and slightly chaotic) meal.

We ended the day with ice cream and a sunset over the Pacific, a calm and beautiful close to a full day in San Diego.
