2022 Session One

Let's go explore Colorado Springs!

We arrived at our first stop of the day with fantastic weather: Garden of the Gods. The kids watched a documentary on how these massive rocks were formed and started the adventure with the park tour guide. We stopped by the famous “Balanced Rock” and took many fun pictures. Everybody was stunned by the view and these gorgeous red rocks!

Shortly after we departed from the nature park, we arrived at the US Olympic & Paralympic Museum. It was a very inspiring experience for students, as they got to try out many Olympic sports games and interact with Olympic champions’ virtual reality.

We ate some delicious turkey sandwiches for lunch and returned to the road again to go to Pikes Peak. Students rode the 130 years old Cog Railway and traveled to the top of the mountain (14.115 ft). At the top, we all had time to wander around the gift shops for souvenirs and try Pikes Peak “high altitude” donuts. The entire ride took about three hours and all had an unforgettable experience!

Tomorrow, we will leave Colorado Springs bright and early and head to Durango, CO!
