Day 5 had a little bit of everything, which is exactly how we like it.
The morning was all about the journey across Colorado, and the bus stayed lively the whole way. There were rounds of Mafia, BS, and Go Fish going strong, and a few of us even spotted an antelope out the window.
Around midday, we pulled over for a picnic in the park near Pagosa Springs. Some of us got a volleyball game going, others kept a hacky sack circle alive, and there was even a little guitar to set the mood. It was the perfect way to stretch our legs and refuel before the afternoon.

From there, it was on to Durango for a whitewater adventure on the Animas River. Plenty of us took the plunge and jumped off the rafts for a quick dip, with a few accidental swims thrown in for good measure. We practiced our synchronized paddling, still a work in progress, and spotted ducks and geese hanging out along the shore.
By the time we were back on dry land, we had worked up an appetite, so we headed out for a dinner of nachos and burritos that absolutely hit the spot.
Games, music, water, and good food. Not a bad way to spend a day on the road. See you tomorrow!
